Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference St. Petersburg to discuss FinTech blockchain projects, ICO trend, and cryptocurrency regulation
On June 22, St. Petersburg will host the major blockchain and cryptocurrency conference – Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference St. Petersburg. Its participants will include Microsoft, BitFury, Higher School of Economics, leading Russian banks, and specialized mass media.
According to the organizer, Smile-Expo event company that has held similar conferences in Moscow, Prague, Tallinn, and Kiev, the program is completed and guests are currently registering actively.
Headliners of the event are Konstantin Goldstein (Microsoft), Marina Guryeva (Higher School of Economics), and Alex Petrov (BitFury). Marina Guryeva will provide a fresh review of blockchain industry trends, while Alex Petrov will reveal a critical issue: the coming increase of Bitcoin block size discussed by leading blockchain industry players at the end of May. It is Alex that you will be able to talk to about SegWit activation and discuss its prospects, as BitFury represented by him has become one of the parties of the agreement.
Given that the world is beginning to recognize the legal status of cryptocurrencies, one will pay major attention to the regulation. Artem Tolkachev, director at Deloitte CIS and well-known lawyer specializing in online projects, will prepare a review of legislative approaches to blockchain technologies. Dmitry Ermolaev, blockchain architect, and Alena Korotaeva, representative of Wirex issuing company focusing on bitcoin cards, will also talk about the legal status of new technologies.
Taking into account the fact that the greatest share of Russia’s blockchain projects covers the banking sector, the organizers will conduct a separate banking session on decentralized service discussions. Speakers will include the representatives of Sberbank Technologies, Alfa-Bank, Raiffeisen Bank as well as Edgar Bers, the representative of the Estonian office of HashCoins.
They will discuss Russia’s first blockchain-based letter of credit deal, blockchain application in crediting, usage of blockchain in intra-corporate processes as well as the banking and social project – blockchain-based cancer insurance.
Other discussion topics will be a blockchain identification issue, smart contracts, startup financing, and, surely, such a popular phenomenon as ICO, whereby investments in new projects reach millions of dollars.
Besides the conference, the guests will be able to attend the exhibition, presenting hardware and software for miners, brokers, traders, and banking experts. Cryptocurrency owners and those engaged in its mining will discover new wallets, trade platforms, and useful services, helping to retain assets and increase revenue.
More details about the conference and exhibition can be found on the Blockchain & Bitcoin Conference St. Petersburg website.
